Thomas Rhett Dreams of Someday Scoring a Cut With Eric Church

A rising star in his own right with hits like "It Goes Like This" and "Beer With Jesus," Thomas Rhett is also a well-known songwriter who has written hits for Florida Georgia Line ("Round Here") and Jason Aldean ("1994") among others. But if you ask his about the artist who is his dream cut? Details here!

Thomas Rhett's list of songwriting credits seems to get bigger and better with each passing year. Just in 2013 alone, he had songs cut by some of country music's hottest acts including Jason Aldean ("1994") and Florida Georgia Line ("Round Here").

So who is that on artist he still dreams about cutting one of his songs?

"My dream outside cut has always been getting on an Eric Church record," Thomas Rhett tells Roughstock. "That is pretty much impossible, unless you write with him. Hopefully one of these days I can get in a room with Eric and write a song that he puts on one of his records. That would definitely be a dream cut."

But he is by no means complaining about the success he's seen thus far. With "Round Here" becoming his first No. 1 hit as a songwriter, Thomas Rhett was able to see just how big the song became first hand.

"I got to see them in New York City when they played at the Best Buy Theater," he recalls. "I was up there doing Jimmy Fallon, and we went over there to see them later that night. They dedicated ‘Round Here’ to me, which was pretty cool. I heard the crowd sing it back without Brian and Tyler even singing it. It was one of the coolest moments in the show to me, but I’m bias!"

Look for Thomas Rhett to hit the road in full swing in 2014, opening for the likes of Jake Owen, Miranda Lambert,  Brantley Gilbert and Justin Moore, as well as headline his own solo dates. Thomas Rhett's debut album, It Goes Like This, is in stores now and the singer's new single is titled "Get Me Some Of That" (Read a story behind the song about the single here).
