The Weekly Single Recap - June 28, 2013: Kelly Clarkson, Blackberry Smoke, Joe Bachman, Uncle Kracker, Chris Stapleton

This week Chuck takes a look at new singles from Kix Brooks, Blackberry Smoke, Craig Wayne Boyd, Branch & Dean, Jared Blake, Uncle Kracker, Ray Scott, Chris Stapleton, Joe Bachman and Kelly Clarkson. Each song gets Chuck's quick-hit analysis -- good or bad.

Blackberry Smoke - "Ain’t Much Left Of Me" (Southern Ground Artists):

They sound modern for sure, but also how a classic Southern Rock band should. Swagger and Class!

Chris Stapleton - What Are You Listening (Mercury Records):

Chris Stapleton is one of the biggest secrets in Nashville. People know his songwriting, but his talents as a vocalist might have gone unnoticed -- until now. He won’t be a secret much longer.

Branch & Dean - The Dash (Theron’s Song) (SSM Records):

A plaintive and emotional ballad about living life to the fullest and making an impact. Words to live by.

Craig Wayne Boyd - "Learning To Dance" (Big Ride):

Soulful yet traditional. A major score!

Jared Blake - "Countryfied" (Skiddco):

Aren’t we all?

Joe Bachman - "A Soldier’s Memoir (PTSD Song)" (Independent):

Powerful song. Perfect timing for the release, as we need to be reminded that, even for those who survive, sacrifice is forever.

Kelly Clarkson - "Tie It Up" (19/RCA/Columbia Nashville):

Think Kelly Clarkson is ready to get married? I think this song proves it’s an emphatic yes! Fun and flirty, as only she can do it!

Kix Brooks - "There’s The Sun" (Arista):

Fun and bluesy feel for one of Country’s good guys.

Ray Scott - "High Road" (Jethropolitan/Flying Island)

One of Country’s top stylists delivers a winner with this lyrically potent single.

Uncle Kracker - "Blue Skies" (Sugar Hill/RPM)

3:43 of "just turn it up" soul. A hit!
