For the second week it has been on the charts, Miranda Lambert’s Four The Record, her fourth album, leads the way on the charts. Newcomer Scotty McCreery, who got to perform a brief 90 second version of “Walk In The Country” on the show, remained second on the SoundScan country tally with a 4% sales bump from the CMA Awards. Lady Antebellum’s Own The Night gained 12% thanks to the band’s performance and win for Top Vocal Group at the CMA Awards telecast a week ago. The trio also was awarded a platinum certification for the album for shipments to retail of over 1,000,000 copies. Speaking of platinum, the CMA’s album of the year, Jason Aldean’s My Kinda Party has officially scanned over 2 million sold. Current single “Tattoos On This Town” was performed on the show. One time CMA Male Vocalist of the Year, Toby Keith, rounds out the Top 5 with his latest album Clancy’s Tavern. The album has now sold over 124,000 copies.

The Band Perry Rides CMA’s to Return to the Top 10
With three awards last Wednesday, The Band Perry took home the most trophies at the CMA Awards. The 3x platinum selling single “If I Die Young” won both the Single and Song of the Year awards while the Republic Nashville artists won the Best New Artist award as well. Their album saw a 112% sales increase over the previous week. Fellow New artist Nominees Luke Bryan and Eric Church sandwich the family trio with their albums in this week’s second half of the Top 10 Country albums, as compiled by SoundScan. Luke’s Tailgates & Tanlines scored a 34% sales increase over the previous week Eric’s Chief jumped back into the Top 10 with a 67% sales increase. Both albums are certified Gold as well. Soon to be certified Gold is Blake Shelton’s Red River Blue. The singer sang the title track to the Footloose film soundtrack to start off the show (he sang with Kenny Loggins). The two time CMA Male Vocalist of the Year now has scanned nearly 400,000 copies of the fantastic Warner Brothers Nashville album. Lauren Alaina, who presented an award and who sings on the CMA Country Christmas program, remained in the Top 10 for at least one more week with her debut Wildflower now having moved 136,000 copies.

Taylor Swift Rides Entertainer of the Year Award to Chart Success
Taylor Swift’s latest album Speak Now has moved nearly 3.75 million copies since being released a year ago and her performance of “Ours” on the CMA Awards show helped her move another 12,000 copies of the record. She’s followed by the Award program’s co-host Brad Paisley. His This Is Country Music gained a 57% sales increase over the previous week to give him 535,000 albums sold so far. You Get What You Give may not have won “Album of the Year” but it did score a 42% sales increase because of the band’s performance of “Georgia” with Gregg Allman on the CMA Awards show. If Brantley Gilbert keeps selling records like he has been with Halfway To Heaven, there’s a very strong chance that he’ll end up getting a Top New Artist nomination for the 2012 award show (perhaps with label mate Justin Moore as well as Hunter Hayes?). Halfway To Heaven has now scanned over 300,000 copies. Rounding out our extra special Top 15 this week is the Official Motion Picture Soundtrack for the Film Footloose. It has now sold 80,000 copies. While not quite “Twilight” film soundtrack levels, it’s still a solid number, especially for a film re-boot

Joe Nichols It’s All Good Leads Notable Albums This Week
Joe Nichols’ latest Show Dog-Universal album It’s All Good, which features “Take It Off” and his own version of “This Ole Boy,” lands on the SoundScan chart at #70 this week. He found 7,000 fans who couldn’t be happier than to take the album home and play it over and over again (we think he deserved at least 10-20x that number, talent wise). Kenny Chesney’s Hemingway’s Whiskey didn’t score any awards except for the Video of the Year for “You And Tequila” with Grace Potter, but the performance of their hit single certainly helped move the sales needle a bit as he scored a 54% sales increase over last week. He’s now sold nearly a million copies of the album. Rascal Flatts scanned past the 1 million sold mark with Nothing Like This, the trio’s 2010 release which features a pair of #1s in “Why Wait,” “I Won’t Let Go” and Top 10 hit “Easy,” the song they performed with snuffleupagus, uh, we mean Natasha Bedingfield on the CMA Awards telecast. Sara Evans may not have gotten any awards for her return to prominence but she did score a 52% sales increase for her 308,000 copies-sold Stronger album. Thompson Square’s self-titled album gained a hearty 96% sales increase thanks to the CMA Awards show performance of #1 hit “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” and found the husband and wife team with sales of over 235,000 copies of their debut album (the single is Platinum).

- Josh Gracin debuted at 167 on the charts with his Average Joe’s Entertainment debut Redemption. He sold nearly 3,000 copies.

- Darius Rucker has sold over 535,000 copies of Charleston, SC 1966.
- Justin Moore has sold nearly 300,000 copies of Outlaws Like Me.
