Justin Moore - Back That Thing Up

Since Wyclef Jean and Kenny Rodgers collaborated in 2000, we've seen Nelly and Tim McGraw, then Snoop Dogg and Willie Nelson collide for better and worse. No collaboration is needed for Justin Moore's attempt at Country-rap with "Back That Thing Up." Is it any good?

Since Wyclef Jean and Kenny Rodgers collaborated in 2000, we've seen Nelly and Tim McGraw, then Snoop Dogg and Willie Nelson collide for better and worse. No collaboration is needed in Justin Moore's heinous attempt at Country-rap with "Back That Thing Up." Pop music fans may recall a song with a nearly identical title and premise from Juvenile less than a decade ago. Needless to say, from his "cock-a-doodle-doo" intro to the 2/4 timing of the verses, this song defies convention and panders for Wal Mart teeny-bop appeal. Country singers may lower their ten-gallon hats in shame as this rotating single follows rap in embarrassing a genre for a song that will infallibly be on a bad deejay's playlist for weddings, happy hours and maybe bar viztahs for the next five years. The same singer who brazenly told us he could "Kick Our A**" last time, wants to celebrate that very bodypart on this new ploy for play.
