Subject: Ridin' Old Paint and Leadin' Old Bald
Alice Hanks again of SaddleBags with words and chords to a great
old song by Patsy Montana. Recently when I recorded this I tried to emulate
Patsy's yodel behind the chorus -- then a yodel harmony part came to mind so
I recorded a 2-part background yodel each time in the chorus. That was
great fun! I'd be interested to know if anyone else out there is familiar
with this song.
RIDIN' OLD PAINT AND LEADIN' OLD BALD
I'm [E] getting' mighty tired of [E7] single life.
I'm [A] gonna settle down and be a wife,
[E]'Way out West where the sun shines every [B7] day.
I'll [E]get me a herd and [E7] start me a brand
A- [A] way out West where a man is a man.
[E]Ridin' Old Paint ------------ and [B7] Leadin' Old [E]Bald.
[E] Ridin' Old Paint, [E7]Leadin' Old Bald.
[A] Goin' quit work this comin' fall.
[E] Goin' to the mountains and live 'till I'm old.
[F#7] Stake me a claim and [B7] look for gold
[E] Gonna get married I'll [E7]swear I will.
[A] Gonna settle down on the Sante Fe Trail
[E] Ridin' Old Paint ------- [B7]and Leadin' Old [B] Bald.
[E] Every night while [E7] work is through
[A] We'll go strollin' just we two,
[E] Down the trail where the sun sinks in the [B7] West.
And [E] every night under- [E7]neath the stars
I'll [A] play a tune on my old guitar
[E] Ridin' Old Paint --------- and [B7] Leadin' Old [E] Bald.
