Subject: I Don't Want To Sober Up Tonight by Merle Haggard

This one came off the CD Merle Haggard, His Best from MCA records These are
the basic chords, I use alot of hammering on and pulling off to try and
give it that funky sound (funky...yes, I'm >from the 60's)

I DON'T WANT TO SOBER UP TONIGHT (Merle Haggard)

CAPO 2

[D] [A] [A] [E7] [A]

[A] I don't want to [E7] sober up to[A]night

I don't want to [E7] act like things are [A] alright

And [D] I don't want to change just to [D7] make you think I'm [A] happy

That's my right, I don't want to [E7] sober up to[A]night

I want to keep my [E7] mind a little [A] hazy

I don't care if all my [E7] friends think I'm [A] crazy

The [D] way I treat my[D7]self I might be a little [A] crazy

But that's alright, I don't want to [E7] sober up to[A]night

I'm here to drown [E7] another day of [A] misery

I'm in here to spend one [E7] night without a [A] mem'ry

And the [D] way I'm drinkin' [D7] now there won't be any [A] memory

But that's alright, I don't want to [E7] sober up to[A]night

I don't want to [E7] sober up to[A]night

I don't want to [E7] act like things are [A] alright

[D] I don't want to [D7] change just to make you think I'm [A] happy

That's alright, I don't want to [E7] sober up to[A]night
