Subject: "Carry On" by "Pat Green"

From Pat Green's "Carry On" Album. This is a slightly modified version
from Jacob Mccutcheons contribution on the site already. He done a fine
job with transcription and this is just how I play it. He is right it is
very fun to play! ENJOY!!

Em D

Baby's just a little bit tired of the city,

Billboards and bullshit got her down,

Seem like you need a little hill country,

Em A7

A Little backroads driving, little bit of the old top down,

(chorus)

         G A D

Yeah, everybody gotta get away sometime,

Em ΚΚΚΚΚΚΚD

Forget about yourself for awhile,

G A

Seems to me that all you need

      D G C Am

is a ragtop car to ride with me,

Em A

Ok, alright,

Em A

just might get a little high tonight ,

Em A

Ok, alright,

D

carry on,

Em D

Ol' Walt Wilkins lives up in Nashville,

You know his eyes have seen the miles,

Walt why don't you jump in Jim T's caddy,

Em A7

Come down to Texas and drink with me awhile ,

(chorus)

           G ΚΚΚΚΚΚΚA D

Yeah, everybody gotta get away sometime,

Em D

Forget about yourself for awhile,

G A

We’ll go down to El Arroyo

                 D G C ΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚAm

Em D

Gonna make sure that you got your troubles,

I'm gonna make sure that you work too hard,

Ain't nobody that don't get tired,

Em A7

Watch your troubles pile up big in your own backyard,

Em D

Sometimes you've got to grab your world with your own two hands,

Set it spinning off on a course all your own,

Take yourself a big bag for your shoulder,

Em A7 ΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚD

Find yourself some good times, bring them on back home,

         G A D

Yeah, everybody gotta get away sometime ,

Em D

Forget about yourself for awhile,

G ΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚΚA

Lay your whole life upon a shelf,

      D G C A7

got no one to blame but your own damn self,

Em A

ok alright

Em A

just might try to get it right tonight

Em A

ok alright
