C G Making a living on the road somewhere a thousand miles away Am G F C G It was a happy day, but kinda sad. I wish I coulda been there Am F G C I wish I coulda been there, I wish I coulda been there for that. C G Am F Little Bobby hit his first home run he was the hero of the hometown crowd C G 2 to 1 it was the winning run, everybody was cheering loud Am G F And mama she was smiling saying, he's a chip off of the old block C G But I was on the road somewhere between Memphis and Little Rock Am G F C G It was a happy day, but kinda sad.
