Subject: Dear Someone by Gillian Welch

Song: Dear Someone
Written and Performed by: Gillian Welch and David Rawlings
Album: Time (The Revelator), Acony Records 2001
Notes: 3/4 time, played in G# (capo 1st), shown here as if played open for
simplicity-s sake. I'm missing subtleties of this tune, esp. 4th line of the
verses and transition at the end of last verse before it repeats last line,
but it's too pretty a song not to have on the board, even if posted in this
admittedly incorrect state. Chords in parentheses sound okay, but I'm not
sure about em. I alternate D chords (see below). The G7 might be a Gm7 or a
straight Gm(?). All others are standard. If you can fix it or refine it,
please send corrections or additions to Greg at cowpie@olga.net. Thanks.

                                   (A7) D

One little star smiling tonight knows where you are.

Stay little star, steady and bright to guide me afar.

                                       D7 G7
Rush little wind over the deep for now I've begun.
          E7 D E7 A D(D7)
Hurry and take me straight into the arms of my dear someone.

Hurry and take me into the arms of my dear someone.
