The Great Nashville Flood of 2010 Hits Well-known Landmarks
By: Matt Bjorke
The home of country music, Nashville, Tennessee, survived the “Great Flood of 2010” but it’s going to be a slow recovery for some in the area as many suburbs, including Green Hills, Franklin and Bellevue all experienced massive flooding during the weekend. These areas, many of which have never been flooded before, are also home to many of the stars and industry staff members. The Grand Ole Opry, which is situated near the Cumberland River in South East Nashville
Roughstock’s Nashville offices weren’t in a flood zone and we’re grateful for that but we thought we would share with you some of the pictures of well-known areas, like Lower Broadway. Also, it is our hope that you will join us and contribute (if you can) to the disaster relief fund set up by the Red Cross.

I'm very glad he did. He seemed truly concerned about what was going on. I understand they talked about others losses and are doing great things to raise money for all the victims. It just seems it takes celebrities to get people to notice a tragedy. My thoughts and prayers and with ALL the victims from each state not just my home town

Phoebe, If you listen to the ARTISTS themselves, they say that what they lost doesn't matter and that the people who lost everything does matter. In our culture, celebrity matters. If it helps bring news to the plight of the folks here in Nashville, thank God for them. Anderson Cooper had MANY regular people on his show last night.

Why is it when the national news does report about it it is the Country Stars view report about losing things? What about the normal people who can't afford to replace stuff? Those people ARE the HEART of Nashville THOSE stories need reported. Not how many instruments Jenny chesney lost. But family members normal people lost? I'm just saying

I think its such a shame that in 2010 people such as Gloria Choate still spread bigotry and hatred in the name of religion. Choate doesn't understand the first thing about religion; if her religion really prompts her to say such things, her religion is bogus.

That's so sad! The photos kind of reminds me of Galveston a couple of years ago after Ike hit! Hmm, that was LOCAL news worthy. I'm curious why this isn't considered news worthy.
