Taylor Swift Wins Award at MTV VMA's, Kanye West Erupts in Protest?

Last night's Video Music Awards from Radio City Music Hall in New York City featured Taylor Swift taking home the "Best Female Video of the Year" and before Taylor Swift could finish her acceptance speech, rapper Kanye West interrupted her saying "Yo, Taylor I'm really happy for you, I'll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!" Beyonce appeared to be stunned by this sudden outbirst from Kanye, as did Taylor and the whole audience.
What wasn't said about this whole event was that it was likely a scripted event with everybody involved -Taylor, Beyonce and Kanye- acting the whole thing out. Swift, who won her award with the video "You Belong With Me" (watch here), is a master of these 'scripted' events and it has helped her get her whole fanbase, which is as much, if not more than Beyonce and Kanye's at this given point, behind her. It also creates new hype for Taylor's album and videos.
Taylor, who was eventually allowed to finish her acceptance speech, later heard her name chanted when Diddy announced Kanye West as one of the nominees for Best Male Video. She also later went on to play "You Belong With Me" from a subway nearby the VMA site.
Watch the video here and tell us what you think. Do you think the whole event was scripted? Do you think Kanye was repeating his 2004 response when Gretchen Wilson beat him for the "Best New Artist" grammy? Do you think that it was scripted because of that reaction to being 'beaten' by a country audience? Do you think it wasn't scripted? We want to hear from you!

Aunt Weesa says the reason why that's true is because of the Fact that the KKK, and others like them are still around, people are still doing what they have been doing since Martin was shot, and if Taylor was black you wouldn't be goin on with yoru Racist Rant, so shut the fuck up, and move on. Taylor has nOOO problem with black people, and would date a black guy if she wasn't in the White bread country spot light. The people who own big Television, and big enterainment companies would never cast a white girl who dated a black man, they all know this. Thats why big stars don't do it, because they can't.

It had nothing to do with being racist, it was the 35 drinks of what ever. He had to much in his system and acted on a thought that should have been overlooked. Taylor is big because of this, and will soon push it too far. One day she will be up on stage and the word where is that nigger Kanye, and the whole thing will come crashing in on her. Trust em.

Aunt Weesa, let's be glad that Toby Keith did not get the award and got interrupted by that disrespectful gesture from that low-life clown. I doubt if Toby would give up that microphone. Then we would have seen some real TV!

I have a ??...what would American do if we reversed the role...say, Toby Keith took the spotlight from Beyonce and insisted that award go to Taylor??? He would be CRUCIFIED as racist by the black-American people. No matter what the talent would have been, that would have been set aside so that RACISM would be the only viewpoint. America will truly be unsegregated and unbiased and un-racist when we eliminate the black Ms America, black TV channel, all black magazine, etc.....or allow white people to be just as proud of their heritage by allowing the white people to have mags, tv channels, etc. I think it would be better if we all agree to just be AMERICAN, unite together and see past the color of our skin.Furthermore, shame of Kayne for stealing the spotlight from Taylor, no matter if it was a skit or not.

I would not doubt that the moment was scripted. Cast a big mouth to strike. The disenfranchised have a face off--black man and white woman. It is an opportunity for the cultures to war in a soft matter. It is Entertainment business. Ratings are up 21% for the VMAs. The Real World is scripted, so is the Hills and who knows what else? It is good pub for Swift, no news is bad news for Kanye West and a chance to make Beyonce look ever so gracious. Brilliant. There was the Madonna Britney kiss and now this. If not a kiss, old news, then a mild rumble over who is most deserving of the best female video. Swift's video--I do not think it is one for the Canon, but I am not an MTV programmer. Ultimately they have the most say. Lucky for the people that we ever got to see MJ back when the colour line was getting erased.

I think Kanye- had to much to drink. he did it on his own. Taylor was on the view. she looked truthful. look at their faces. shock on Beyonce, she could never match that look, it was in the moment. Kanye is raciest, just as President Carter claims Sen.Wilson to be raciest for calling out liar, against/toward President Obamma. Granted MTV may have paid Kanye but he acted on his own ether way paid or not. if he did or he did not. personally he has gone down the wrong trail ever sense his mama died, that young man needs help. paid or not both are just plain wrong. plus Sen Wilson had to admit he was wrong and say sorry why not Kanye? I believe there is a double standard here in America. too bad. And if it was a staged thing then once again America has been dooped... We will never know.... where's Justin and miss Jackson these days? I wonder, staged may be may be not no one will ever know ... may be.????? William. www.hadhagerd.com

I don't believe it was a set up. Taylor has no need to increase her already humongous fan base as it already exceeds well past a lasting core beyond many already well established fans. I'm not saying I'm a huge fan but I do respect the accomplishments she has earned thus far and because she is not one to let her ego take over the person she is now or will continue to be. She is not the devious conniving person so many that are jealous of wish or would like people to think she is . Taylor is what you see is what you get and I think anyone who says differently should be ashamed of themselves.

Hmm it's hard to tell if it was scripted. I really can't see Taylor doing something like that though. At least that's the Taylor I'm hoping it is.

I think it was scripted. Everyone is saying "No, it was REAL!Look at Taylor's face when it happened!" So, you're telling me someone who JUST won an award for a VIDEO in which ACTING was required couldn't pull off looking shocked and upset? I've seen that video and Taylor performing with T-Pain in a skit -- she can act, at the very least to that degree. I'm a fan of all 3 - Beyonce, Kanye, and Taylor - and I think 1 or more of them (possibly all) knew what was going to happen in advance. Not only that, people at MTV knew it, too. MTV has a history of presenting staged and scripted moments as "reality" for the buzz and ratings. Here's a publicity stunt that will give all the artists and the channel a huge bump in search engine hits and it gives them a villain, a victim, and a hero to bring redemption. Good story.

Are you kidding? Taylor is the BEST. What grace she showed. Carrie Underwood would have STORMED off the stage pouting and whining! Taylor, you are my IDOL and I LOVE YOU!
