Taylor Swift and Other Country Stars Get Ready to Tour
By: Roughstock Staff

Some of country music's biggest names are hitting the road in the coming weeks to kick off the spring and summer tour season with Taylor Swift, Toby Keith, Little Big Town and Billy Currington all adjusting their itineraries. Nichols has launched his first Australian tour and is staying for ten days. George Strait sold out an entire stadium in one hour and Jason Aldean is preparing for his first live DVD.
Tickets for George Strait's June 6 christening of the new Dallas Cowboys' stadium are already gone. He sold the entire venue in a quick 60 minutes. He will be joined at Tony Romo's new workplace by Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton and Julianne Hough.
Jason Aldean's performance at the Knoxville Coliseum will also become the location shoot for his first concert DVD. Aldean is excited about making the live DVD in Knoxville because the crowds are young, fun and always ready party. Little Big Town will take along four new country musicians on tour and Billy Currington is set to headline the post-race concert for the Country Music Marathon and Half Marathon on April 25 in Nashville.
Toby Keith is preparing America's Toughest Tour this summer, beginning June 18 in Holmdel, NJ with Trace Adkins as opening act. Mark Wills will launch this year's Honky Tonk Tailgate Party on April 17 at Gilley's in Dallas with Trent Willmon and Jeff Bates.
Taylor Swift kicks off her tour in Evansville Indiana on April 23rd. Actis appearing with Swift include Gloriana and Taylor's friend and former American Idol contestant Kellie Pickler.

For almost two decades Southern California didn't have any big country music festivals until Stagecoach came along back in 2007. This year a new festival is being started in Lake Elsinore named "the Wagon Wheel Country Music Festival". While Stagecoach features Top 40, Americana, bluegrass, and cowboy music the new Wagon Wheel festival targets Top 40 mainstream style artists. Ashton Shepherd will be at Wagon Wheel but she is the only artist currently booked I'd really like to see. I'm still glad to see these festivals happen here in SoCal as I hope it leads to more shows being booked by the lesser known artists with real talent.
