Sugarland - All I Wanna Do

With their career now established at the superstar level, Sugarland chose the grand stage of the 43rd ACM Awards show to debut their new single "All I Wanna Do." As far as nonsensical summertime singles go, the song is a winner. It has all the hallmarks of a smash radio hit, catchy melody and timeless, ohh-ohh-ohh-ohh chorus. However catchy a chorus and melody are, I somehow expect more from Sugarland. I think the band should have timless lyrics in the verses to go with the melody and chorus.
Yes, I want my cake and to eat it too.
I believe in this band and on some levels, I like this song (it is fun). However, I don't know if something that oozes groovy pop is necessarily the direction I hoped Sugarland would go with their new music, particularly after their strong hit "Stay."
