Single Review: Lee Brice - A Woman Like You

Lee Brice had a couple of moderate hits before he broke through with “Love Like Crazy.” That song, which was one of the few he didn’t write on his debut album of the same name, became the longest-charting hit in Billboard’s history and was the most-played song in 2010, according to Billboard. A song Lee also wrote, “Crazy Girl,” looks like a lock to be the most-played song of 2011 for the band which took it to #1 on the charts last week, Eli Young Band.  Now though, Lee’s back with “A Woman Like You,” a song he co-wrote with Jon Stone.

Only on the charts for a few weeks, the song has already broken the Top 40 which immediately makes it his fastest rising single to date. The melody is simple with acoustic guitars and an almost “Chesney” or “Currington” vibe to it with an equally simple yet passionate vocal delivery of the lyrics about a guy who talks with his girl about what life might be like for him if he hadn’t met her and remained “Alone and out there on the loose” he’d still be “looking for a woman like you.” This is the kind of song that Garth Brooks (who debuted at #1 on the charts with Lee’s “Every Other Memory” a couple of years ago) would’ve taken up the charts and Lee continues to show off a charming personality and vocal style that just makes “A Woman Like You” an easy song to like.

With all these fashion advertisements shown on the comments it is no doubt a measure to get Mr. Bice to reconsider his plastic cap strap image.Who is his target audience? He eats & sleeps with that cap I am sure This guy is NOT a slave to fashion, for sure! But the little squirt can sell music!
