Love this song!! Thanks for posting the info! It's good to know the industry people have offered ecstatic repsonses. Rick, I have to disagree that her vocals sound forced. I would use...sultry, dynamic and powerful..just sayin'.

Who says Shawna or anyone else has to fit into a "mold"? That's what wrong with music today. You have to be hooky in order to get any attention. This song has feeling and passion (WOW..that's a thought..let's put some "meat" back into a song) and the ending will leave you with chills as you feel her pain. To each his own with music preference; maybe one day you'll find something you like and appreciate a true artist when you hear one.

Rick, I have seen this young woman in concert several times and I don't know what your grudge is with her, but me and my crowd thinks she kicks ass. I can only hope that you enjoy what you do for a living as much as she seems to. I think "Rumor" is a great song. It doesn't sound like anything else out there. And while it may not fit your taste, that doesn't mean that you should continue to bash this hard-working young woman like you have in the past, and like you have in the "Audio" blog about this song. But, you seem to trash a lot of artists. You must be a very unhappy person. God bless you.

I can't see this song going anywhere at Top 40 country stations outside of Oklahoma and Texas. Its okay but the pace is too slow, the melody is not hooky or memorable, Shawna's vocals seem forced at times, and the rock production elements work against the song. Even if Leann Rimes recorded this song I don't think it would do that well at radio. This sassy little "Pink Dirt" gal is not ready for prime time country radio by a long shot.
