It’s that time of the week again.  You know, that time of the week where we go over the Nielsen SoundScan numbers for the week.  With no big time new albums this week – outside of Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers’ bluegrass album Rare Bird Alert – Sara Evans retains a second week atop the SoundScan Top 20 country albums rundown this week.  Stronger has now sold nearly 80,000 copies in two weeks.  Last week’s #2 album remains in the same slot this week as Jason Aldean is barely held-off as he is less than 20,000 copies from scanning past a Million units sold.  Rascal Flatts continues to garner a nice sales boost which has them sliding back into the Top 5 this week as Nothing Like This is over 700,000 copies sold.  The Zac Brown Band’s next with You Get What You Give has almost 770,000 copies while Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now has now sold 3.3 million copies.

With little awareness, the album has now impressively moved 25,000 copies.  Aaron Lewis’ Town Line is next and has sold nearly 70,000 copies in a month on the charts while Thompson Square now officially has the best-selling album from a new artist in 2011 as they look to get the #1 slot on next week’s singles charts with “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not.”  The Band Perry’s self-titled album moved nearly 10,000 more copies with the family trio close to scanning Gold.
