Rodney Atkins Talks About Impact "Doin' It Right" Has Made On His Life

Rodney Atkins is known for many things, but maybe the thing that tops that list is cranking out hit songs that makes an impact on the lives of those who are listening. He did it with "If You're Going Through Hell," "Watching You" and "It's America," to name a few, and he's back at it again with his latest single, "Doin' It Right."
Penned by Jay Knowles, "Doin' It Right" is a song that speaks of the truths of learning through mistakes and how giving your best effort is the sometimes all that you can do. From the moment Atkins heard the tune, he knew it was a match made in heaven.
"'Doin' It Right' is a song I just heard [on a] Jay Knowles work tape, and it simply killed me," Atkins tells Roughstock. "It reminded me of a Bob Dylan kind of lyric that just nailed me with every word. I felt like the good Lord needed me to hear this song. I couldn't wait to record it. I pray that it touches folks lives the way it has touched mine."
"Doin' It Right" is the lead single from Atkins' forthcoming studio album on Curb Records. The album is the singer's fifth release, following his other highly-successful projects Honesty (2003), If You're Going Through Hell (2006), It's America (2009) and Take a Back Road (2011).
