Richie Fields - Man Enough To Cry

Richie Fields is but another in a long line of country artists who have come out in the past few years. While mainstream radio has turned away from the kind of vocalist that Richie is -think Conway Twitty-there should be a place for artists like him somewhere. “Man Enough To Cry” is the title track to his album and it’s a well-written and produced mid-tempo ballad that showcases Fields’ strong bass tenor vocal. It’s a strong, rich, textured vocal that just sounds better with repeated listenings.

Given a true shot at country radio, “Man Enough To Cry,” with its lyric about being in touch with yourself enough to cry when time calls for such occasions, would find its place on the charts with the latest Trace Adkins or Sugarland hit.

This is a really nice song but like too many traditional songs from new artists on small or indie labels it will be on a CDX CD that few major market stations ever spin. This is the type of song that small market stations may play and maybe country stations in Europe. Talented artists that prefer a traditional sound like Richie come and go every week and most listeners to mainstream country radio never knew they existed..
