With just her second single with Starstruck/The Valory Music Company, Reba McEntire has scored her 34th chart-topping hit on the country charts as "Consider Me Gone" topped both the Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Aircheck Mediabase charts. The song is the first chart-topper for Reba since 2003's "Somebody."  Reba's of hit singles started in 1983 with "Can't Even Get The Blues."

My Valory Music Company family gave me the best Christmas gift ever -  a number one record!  Our team’s hard work and enthusiasm continue to amaze me,” said Reba.    “ ‘Consider Me Gone’ is a great song, and I’m just proud to be a part of it.  2009 has been great.  34 #1’s are great.  And, I feel like we are just getting started!”

Reba will be busy leading up to Christmas with a Holiday special on the CBS special Home For The Holidays, which airs at 8 PM Eastern and 7 PM Central.

I've never been able to grasp the whole "Cult of Reba" deal going on in the mainstream country marketplace over the years. I really like Reba's early stuff when she was truly country and didn't over-sing everything, but I lost interest long ago. I get the long term success of Alan Jackson and George Strait, Reba not so much...
