Randy Houser and Jamey Johnson collectively announced today that they were partering up for a 30 city fall tour for CMT's 2009 edition of "CMT on Tour."  Houser and Johnson are longtime friends and co-writers and both released critically acclaimed albums last year. While Johnson received praise for his traditionalist leanings, Houser began wowing audiences with his hodgepodge mixture of country soul.  Both artists have had a great last couple of years with Johnson recently winning another ACM Award while Houser just scored his first Top 10 hit with his current single "Boots On." There are other artists besides Randy Houser I'd much prefer to see perform with Jamey. The names that spring readily to mind include Ashton Shepherd, Holly Williams, and even Crystal Shawanda (who is fantastic live in an acoustic setting). There were only a couple of songs on Randy's album I liked and th rest were mainstream country "product". I'd rather see Jamey solo than these two together. Oh well...
