Keith Urban To Go On Vocal Rest after Surgery

Country star Keith Urban has recently undergone a few vocal problems and has scheduled to have outpatient surgery later this month to remove a polyp on his vocal chords and as a result, he will be ordered to undergo vocal rest to recover from the surgery. Because of this, Keith's annual All For The Hall benefit concert for the Country Music Hall of Fame has been postponed. No word was given w/r/t his guitar playing and if he’ll be ‘forced’ to stop playing his beloved instruments.  We’d hope not for that would be like a pilot not being able to fly anymore.

Keith's current single "You Gonna Fly" is at radio now.

Thompson Square to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live Next week

The performance will take place as the husband and wife duo, who hit #1 earlier this year with “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” and have since hit the Top 10 with follow-up single “I Got You,” begins to wrap up what has been the banner year for the duo. In addition to performing on JKL, the duo will also be performing live on the CMA Awards broadcast, the show which they’re nominated for both Top New Artist and Best Vocal Duo. The duo will also perform on Fox TV’s 2nd Annual American Country Awards and they were the second-highest nominated act behind only Jason Aldean and Zac Brown Band.

Singer/Songwriter Larry Cordle To be Joined By Stars on Next album

A chart-topping bluegrass artist in his own right, Larry Cordle is also a gifted songwriter with cuts on many albums and had the idea to sing duets with stars who had recorded his songs in the past and now he’s gotten, Dierks Bentley, Ricky Skaggs, Travis Tritt, Kathy Mattea, Diamond Rio, Terri Clark, Trisha Yearwood and country icon Garth Brooks to sign on for the project. The project will be produced by Randy Kohrs and Cordle.  No word yet on if his “Murder On Music Row” song will be revived and thus causing a ruckus in Nashville yet again because of the song’s content about the end of ‘real’ country music (a topic that’s still ‘debatable’ depending on one’s views about what constitutes a real country song, the sound or the lyrics and feeling presented in the song). The album is scheduled for a late 2012 release.

Faith Hill’s New Single Titled “Coming Home”

Next Wednesday (November 9, 2011) will find Faith Hill debuting to both country radio and the American public via the CMA Awards her new single “Come Home.” Written by Ryan Tedder and originally recorded by OneRepublic, “Come Home” ‘is such a great song,’ says Faith Hill. ‘So well written – a beautiful lyric and sentiment – combined with a driving musical undertone and great instrumentation. I’m really excited for fans of country radio to hear the song.” It’s Faith’s first new single sent to radio since her Christmas single “A Baby Changes Everything” from 2008. I’m sure that traditional fans who are looking forward to Larry Cordle’s single may not be looking forward to a ‘pop’ song from a ‘pop singer.' Faith's album is scheduled for an early 2012 release on Warner Brothers Nashville.

Luke Bryan to be Special Red Carpet Correspondant for Ellen DeGeneres Show

Capitol Nashville country star Luke Bryan was hand-picked by Ellen DeGeneres to be her red carpet correspondent for her daily talker after first appearing on the program in late September to perform his smash hit “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” and also portraying “Pierre” in her ongoing soap opera drama “As The Tide Turns” (watch here).  Luke is nominated for Best New Artist and will be performing on the show as well. Luke's current single, "I Don't Want This Night To End" is at country radio now (and currently a top seller at iTunes)

Pre-Order David Nail's "The Sound of A Million Dreams"
