With each album released over the course of his five year career, Luke Bryan has evolved from a middle of the road country crooner (albeit a strong one) to one of the genre’s rising stars, an artist who is able to headline a country music tour like he’s currently doing with CMT’s CMT On Tour: Luke Bryan Tailgates & Tanlines Tour.  With his star on the rise, it makes sense, then, that he is releasing “I Don’t Want This Night To End” as the follow-up to career hit “Country Girl (Shake It For Me).”

“I Don’t Want This Night To End” sets a mood and a vibe that certainly befits a song that is perfect to start off a concert or encore portion of a concert. The mid-tempo intro features moody electric guitars guiding a progressive back line as Luke vividly paints the story with lyrics about being in the moment of a new relationship. And while it’d be easy to read into the lyrics more, there really isn’t anything more to them than telling a story of one night with a new ‘could be’ flame.  Nothing more, nothing less.

The chorus is infectious and sing-a-long ready and given that it’s repeated here three times throughout the song, it’s no wonder that the song was chosen to be a single. It sounds great on the radio, just like it will in concerts.

Like “Country Girl (Shake it For Me),” Luke Bryan is setting a mood with “I Don’t Want This Night To End” and it paints an interesting picture of the beginnings of a new relationship.  It’s a strong, well-written song that will ultimately help Tailgates & Tanlines hit Gold very, very soon while fans out on the CMT on Tour shows will no doubt have their hands up and singing every damn song Luke sings and the fans certainly won’t want that “night to end.”
