Kid Rock To Host 2010 CMT Music Awards

Kid Rock Released a statement on his website today that he has agreed to host 2010's CMT Music Awards, to be held June 8, 2010. The only country award show that is 100% fan voted, the CMT Awards host last year was Bill Engvall and the year before that the hosts were Miley Cyrus and her Dad Billy Ray Cyrus. So the show has a history of including 'non country singer' hosts.
What do you think. Was the choice of Kid Rock good for the CMT Awards, a show that wants to stand out from the ACM and CMA Awards shows? Do you think that Kid Rock, despite his Top 5 hit "All Summer Long" and a couple other Top 40 appearances, doesn't belong anywhere near a country music award show? What about his love of outlaw country? Do you think he may actually like country music and know more of its roots than some of the newer artists currently rising up the charts?

The show was a mess from start to finish. No flow - no momentum - it was painful. What was CMT thinking? Hey, look at the bright side, their bar is now set so low that next years show can only be an improvement.

the CMT music awards were terrible this year. CMT needs to fire whoever put the show together. very disappointing

I think that CMT could have found a better host like Melissa Peterman. If it is going to be like it was last year I may not watch it anyways. Last year it turn into a Taylor Swift Show. I can't take much more of her.

OK! I gotta join the ranks of protest against this thang too! Who let this mess happen? Are there any Memphis mafia still alive that can take care of this corruption? Will it take a vigilante group against stupidity in allowing this useless organism to infiltrate an American institution such as our COUNTRY MUSIC? Please y'all redneck boys, stand up, step up and saddle up and make it real COUNTRY while you still can!! Any takers? How about the Hell's Angels?

Just call it Rock Country,or foul mouth country, he is polarized to the other end of musuc not anything about him can be connected to Country Music. Another CMT bad move or is it more of PAYOLA like most of the dizzy headed blondes that CMT shoves at us and call it music

I had planned to attend this event, as I will be in Nashville for CMA Fest. This announcement of Kid Rock as host just put a stop to that. I would not inflect that upon myself. Why would CMT do this? Really bad decision. He is an insult to Country Music.

No, last year Bill Engval hosted! Cyrus duo was the year before and it was awful. I don't know about Kid Rock. He does have a foul mouth at times. But it really doesn't matter, it's probably going to be all about the skinny, curly headed blonde again and I don't think I will be watching.
