Justin Moore - "Small Town USA"

After coming at country fans and radio with two boisterous, fun-loving songs, The Valory Music Company's Justin Moore returns to airwaves in 2009 with "Small Town USA." And from just listening to the track, this is the kind of country song fans have grown to love to hear on country radio, even if it is one of the four or five most overused themes of the last few years, as Moore sings quite capably and the song's production is actually quite country with the cascading steel guitars and twangy guitar fills.
Still, despite all of that I cannot help but wonder if Moore isn’t better than the songs he's released to radio. Sure, the silly "Back That Thing Up" gave him his first Top 40 single and this one’s likely to do better than that, but to the fan of traditional country music this young man with big talent certainly seems like he could give us more. While "Small Town USA" does prove there's more to Justin Moore than superficial silly ditties, I really hope he can come out with a knock-em-dead, traditional-based country song, the kind of song that is lurking somewhere behind the songs we've heard from him so far.

I would Have to agree With Matt. I really think he can do better then his cheesy songs. Yes they gave him spots on the charts but In the end I feel he can do better and they only are hurting him. He is losing his future fans like rick for example.

I'm sorry, but I can never forgive Justin for the bad taste of "Back That Thing Up". His barnyard version of a song along the lines of "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" was more than I could bear and I'll probably never listen to anything else he releases. That's just the way it goes I guess...
