Jason Aldean - She's Country

The first time most people heard "She's Country" was on the CMA Awards show last night but the first time I heard this song was today, when I downloaded it.  The crunchy distorted alt-rock style guitars favored by Aldean on "Hicktown" and "Johnny Cash" are present here, thus continuing a trend to release "rockin'" lead singles to country radio in advance of his upcoming albums.  Of the three, "She's Country" might be the most 'bone crushing' in melodic structure.  While Aldean wears a hat, he actually is singing a 1980's-like metal song with some country progressions and lyric.  The lyrics roll off Aldean's tongue in list-like fashion, a trend I'd be happy to see end, yet somehow I still like this song.  While I can see traditionalists getting angry over this song being played next to a George Strait track, it will fit nicely next to the Taylor Swifts and Keith Urbans of this modern, new mainstream country-pop era.  Also, it's not far removed from something that a Texas Country artist might put out.

All I have to say is listen to Tim McGraw's " Things Change ". Wake up people and stop judgin' and do some more listenin' . If you don't like it, don't listen!! Remember, it is just YOUR opinion......A true fan of music finds good in all of it.

This review isn't negative about this song at all.

Every review I have read so far has a negative tone to Jason's new song. I have a serious ? then, who writes this stuff? His new song is just as good as all his other hits. I love the song , as does the rest of my redneck friends. I think people need to realize country is going down a different road. For those of you stuck on old country, I hope you realize people like Jason are getting bigger and there are more of them because they appeal to the vast majority. There is a new style of country coming in.

I on again off again like Jason Aldean but I must agree with Matt, I to find myself liking this song. I think I like it most because of how the song keeps rolling. It is very much so country-pop

I don't know if this is a JR song or not. It actually sounds more like a Jeffrey Steele joint.

It's ironic that Jason Aldean would release a song titled "She's So Country" when he himself is so not country. Without John Rich as his own personal "Mutt Lange" Jason wouldn't have gotten anywhere. Jason and this song were the low point of the recent CMA Awards show, and that's saying a lot. Sheesh.
