Jason Aldean - "Crazy Town"
By: Matt Bjorke

After the wintertime #1 hit “The Truth,” Jason Aldean is back to his up-tempo ways with his fourth single from the Platinum Wide Open. It has a southern rock vibe that recalls “She’s Country” but instead of being another song about the country, this song is about the country music industry and in particular the songwriters and singers who are trying to ‘pay their dues’ prayin’ for the chance to break out and ‘become famous.’
While not a song that will ‘work’ or appeal to everyone “Crazy Town” does talk about the universal struggle to ‘make it’ in this world, even if the world being described is filled with ‘neon dreams’ and general music industry craziness. The southern rock meets hard rock production choice works well with Aldean’s voice and it even accents it a bit allowing him to hid the nasal sound that sometimes pops up.
With a current string of three #1 singles it’s apparent that Aldean has not only found fans in the general population but with country radio ‘tastemakers’ as well. “Crazy Town” will likely follow those other three singles up the charts in short order and while it may have a tougher time hitting #1 than “She’s Country,” “The Truth” and “Big Green Tractor” did, the chances are pretty strong that it will do just that, setting up Aldean for the possibility of gaining a fifth #1 single off of Wide Open.

I really don't care to hear singers sing about being singers or about Nashville or Murder on Music Row or whatever. I don't care about these singers or their troubles. I'd prefer to hear songs about another topic.

I was hoping he'd release this as a single. After big green tractor and the truth. Which were both probably some of aldean best singles he finally goes back to what he knows best. A rocking song that shouldn't have a problem going right to the top and cementing him as a hitmaker. I like this song actually more than she's country I think it's more true to him as an artist. But I for one loved the entire wide open album. If their is a fitb single I'd love to see don't give up on me
