It's Another Week At #1 for Blake Shelton's "Red River Blue" Album

With another 47,000 copies sold, Blake Shelton retains its status as the best-selling country album on the SoundScan Top 200 Current Albums chart. Jason Aldean slides back up the charts to have the #2 selling country album in America with My Kinda Party. In fact, Jason scored a 2% sales increase over last week with the album. Chris Young’s Neon sold another 25,000 copies to bring total sales of the album with this week’s #1 Tomorrow to nearly 100,000 copies scanned. Justin Moore’s Outlaws Like Me sits at #4 this week with total sales now nearly 155,000 in a month on the chart. Zac Brown Band returns to the Top 5 with You Get What You Give. The record has now sold nearly 1.075 million copies.

Brad Paisley leads the #6-#10 portion of this week’s Top 10 with This Is Country Music. Already certified Gold for shipments to retail stores of over 500,000 copies, the album has thus far scanned 378,546 copies in nine weeks on the chart. Scotty McCreery’s month-old EP American Idol Season 10 Highlights has now sold nearly 86,000 and is all but assured of selling 100,000 copies soon. Taylor Swift’s Speak Now sits right behind Scotty and has sold another 13,000 copies this week. Taylor’s sister label band The Band Perry is #9 this week with their self-titled album. Rounding out the Top 10 is the various artist compilation of Now Country IV.

Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now gained a sight sales increase this week as well the trio continues to stay ahead of Taylor Swift for at least another few weeks as the #1 country album released in 2010. Kenny Chesney’s Hemingway’s Whiskey rebounds to have a healthy sales gain on the SoundScan Top 200 Current Albums chart this week as it becomes the #12 best-selling album this week. It has now sold nearly 900,000 copies. Blake Shelton’s best-of (covering 2001-2010) sold another 8,400 copies this week bring sales over 362,000. Rascal Flatts’ Nothing Like This is the #14 best-seller this week, just out-pacing Zac Brown Band’s The Foundation.

Ronnie Dunn’s self-titled album has now sold nearly 106,000 copies while Sara Evans’ Stronger has moved over 250,000 copies. Ashton Shepherd slides down from #10 this week to #17 with her two-week-old Where Country Grows while American Idol Season 10 runner-up Laruen Alaina slides #19 this week but has sold over 41,000 copies of her Walmart-exclusive EP. The Average Joe’s Entertainment compilation Mud Digger 2 album rounds out the Top 20 with nearly 5,000 copies sold its first week out.

Country icon Dolly Parton leads our interesting albums section this week with Better Day now having scanned nearly 25,000 copies since being released a month ago. Alison Krauss and Union Station’s Paper Airplane has now sold nearly 260,000 copies while Colt Ford’s Every Chance I Get has now sold 83,000 copies since being released two months ago. Aaron Lewis – who is returning to his band STaind for their new album this fall – has sold nearly 190,000 copies of his Town Line EP while folksy trio Burlap To Cashmere returns after nearly 15 years away to land at #197 on this week’s Top 200 Current Albums chart provided by SoundScan.
