Gwyneth Paltrow Inks 'Country/Pop' Record Deal W/Atlantic
By: Roughstock Staff
In news that was rumored to be happening yesterday, Gwyneth Paltrow has signed a record deal with Atlantic Records. With the music described as country/pop-leaning, Paltrow seems to be heading down the path that she started on when she took on her most recent starring role in Country Strong. She scored a Top 40 hit single, the soundtrack has sold nearly 200,000 copies and Paltrow’s duet with Tim McGraw, “Me and Tennessee” has been released to country radio.
Paltrow, who is married to Coldplay front man Chris Martin, has also recently performed with Cee Lo Green on the Grammy Awards while also having a hit duet a decade ago with Huey Lewis on “Cruisn” from their film “Duets.” Paltrow’s other singing connection is being cast as part-time role on Glee as a substitute teacher.
Paltrow’s contract is reportedly worth 900,000 dollars with an album due out in the coming months.
