In just a years time, Greg Bates has gained touring experience from criss-crossing the country on many high-profile tours, such as last year's Hell On Wheels Tour featuring headliner Brantley Gilbert. Entering into 2013, Bates' touring life has continued to go strong as he will head out on the road with none other than Alan Jackson. While the two tours will be going from one extreme to another, Bates is enjoying and absorbing all he can to use in years to come on future tours.

"Brantley's fans know what they like and they know what they don’t like," Bates tells Roughstock. "With my sound being more traditional, it was something I’ve always heard from people in the industry that my stuff would definitely work more for middle-aged housewives. That’s kind of our demographic. I love that, but at the same time, I’m 25 years old, and I love 90s Country Music. I know there’s got to be other 25 year olds out there who listen to this stuff, and there’s got to be teenagers who listen to this stuff. It’s been fun to go out in front of a crowd like Brantley has that’s so specific and loves what he does, and have them react to what I do. It was very cool. I kind of had to tweak my show a little bit to keep up with what they wanted. We did the first show, and we were off and running! It all made sense at that point. We had so much fun out there because musically we are so different.

"The Alan Jackson shows have already been amazing," Bates continues. "Alan doesn’t do a whole lot of shows, but I think we’re on every show he’s doing this year. It’s going to be a lot of fun to go out with somebody who’s got that many hits and who has done it for as long as he has."

In addition to the Alan Jackson shows, Bates will also be "all over the place" this summer, playing clubs, fairs and festivals on his own headlining tour dates. "It is really important to go and reintroduce myself  with a different song, with the rest of the record, for the people who know me for 'Did It for the Girl,'" says Bates. "I want them to hear the rest of the record and really get to know me as an artist. It’s fun to go into a room that’s packed out and know that they are there to see me. I’m just having a blast right now."
