With trios seemingly all the rage given the success of Rascal Flatts, Carter’s Chord, The Band Perry and Lady Antebellum (and at one time Sugarland), it’s not surprising that a band like Eden’s Edge exists. The fact that the band works as a sort of reverse Lady Antebellum, Eden’s Edge found their way into the hands of Big Machine Records and a superstar producer in Mark Bright. Rather than clutter “Amen” in a wall of sound like many current productions, Bright worked with Hannah Blaylock, Dean Berner, and Cherrill Green (They make up Eden’s Edge) to create an organic yet modern sounding piece of ear candy.

While the lyrics certainly tell the story of a girl who is so in love with a boy who doesn’t seem to be paying attention to her, they’re spread out over that delicious country pop melodic bed with fantastic harmonies and a stunning, vibrato-filled vocal that recalls a young Dolly Parton. Those lead vocals are courtesy of Hannah, who met Dean through a friend and the multi-instrumentalist brought Cherrill to the group and that is how Eden’s Edge came to be.

“Amen” is an immediately likable song with a simple yet memorable chorus and a classic-sounding country melody and vocal.  What’s not to like?
