David Nail's "Let it Rain" Hits Number One
By: Allen Jacobs
One of our Ones to Watch in 2009, David Nail has finally made good on his promising debut in 2008 with "Let It Rain," the lead single to sophomore album "The Sound of a Million Dreams," hitting #1 on the charts this week. His first chart-topping single, "Let It Rain" - written with Jonathan Singleton - took nearly 40 weeks to hit the top spot and it became one of 2011's most-played hits and could end up being one of 2012's as well. The single followed up David's two other hits "Turning Home" and the Top 10 hit "Red Light," one of our favorite tunes from 2009.
The artist, who often tweets about sports-related things, took to the social media platform to give thanks to his fans and label for making the song happen:
“Words seem far to simple, but I say THANK U from the bottom of my heart!” Nail said. “Greatest moment of my career by far! Thank you Country Radio!”
It wasn't long after that tweet before artist friends and fans left David with a barrage of well-wishes. He left the tweet below before returning to his sports tweets:
“The first person to text congrats was @DierksBentley,” Nail tweeted. “Made me a nervous wreck all day! Really meant a lot! Such a fan of his!”
