Taylor Swift Remains #1 with “Eyes Open” from Hunger Games Sound

with another 111,000 singles sold, Taylor Swift’s “Eyes Open” track remains #1 this week but her duet with The Civil Wars (“Safe & Sound”) slid to #3 this week as Luke Bryan’s “Drunk On You” looks well on its way to becoming a huge hit of the summer.

Eric Church and Carrie Underwood round out Top Five

Eric Church continues to rise up the charts with “Springsteen.” The single, which is also a Top 10 hit at country radio, maintained it’s #4 slot this week and has now sold over 300,000 copies. Meanwhile, the nearly-Gold single “Good Girl” slid to #5 (From #3) this week. This is likely only a one week stay at #5 with the single having been performed Sunday night on the ACM Awards and it’ll likely gain substantially next week (but not hit #1 with the duet from Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney looking like a LOCK for that slot.

Jason Aldean has another Hit, Miranda Rises

With Lee Brice’s “A Woman Like You” rising to 700,000 copies sold, the single is nearing #1 status (which should still happen next week unless the previously mentioned Chesney/McGraw duet somehow hits there thanks to Clear Channel Radio initiatives). Right behind Brice at #7 is Miranda Lambert with the nearly Gold “Over You.” Jason Aldean’s latest hit “Fly Over States” is #8 (up from #9 last week). Kip Moore’s breakthrough hit “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck” continues to march towards Gold sales while Blake Shelton’s “Drink On It” sits at #10 with sales now at 314,000 sold.

Rascal Flatts Score Top Debut, Matt Nathanson Top Riser of Week

The #11-30 section includes pairs of singles from Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, and Rascal Flatts. The band’s “Banjo” and the top debut this week, “She’s Leaving” sit at #20 and #21 this week sales of 23,000 each. Right ahead of the superstar trio’s pair of tracks is Matt Nathanson’s “Run,” a song he performed with Sugarland on Dancing With The Stars last week and scored this week’s Top Riser award. Other notable singles on the chart include another rising single, Eli Young Band’s “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” and Rodney Atkins’ “He’s Mine,” A single that now has sold 171,000 copies. Dierks Bentley’s recent #1 “Home” returns to the Top 30 this week and now has sold 332,000 while Gloriana’s rising single “(Kissed You)Good Night” has now sold 124,000 copies.

Scotty McCreery’s “Water Tower Town” Strong Debut

With 13,000 singles sold, Scotty’s third single debuts at #32 this week. The total sales are now 37,000 copies. A couple paces back we see Hunter Hayes gaining 73% in sales for “Wanted” this week. He’s now sld 69,000 singles in roughly three weeks on the chart. The Lionel Richie and Blake Shelton duet “You Are” from Tuskegee is the highest charting solo track from the album (fans were buying physial and digital album copies, not individual singles). It sold 13,000 copies (total sales are the same). Other notable singles this week include Miranda Lambert’s “Gunpowder & Lead” (which Skylar Laine performed on Idol last week). She sold 14,000 singles (it has a total of 1,563,000 sold), Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus Take The Wheel,” a single that’s sold nearly 2 million downloads.  The other songs from Richie’s project to show up in the Top 100 this week include “Stuck On You,” “Sail On,” “My Love,” “Say You, Say Me,” and “Stuck On YOu.”
next week, we’ll see Rascal Flatts debut with their record along with the debut of the Chesney/McGraw single. Check back here to see where they fall (we should also see the arrival once again of the Kelly Clarkson “Mr Know It All” single too as the digital version of the single is officially available. Rather than remix that song, she re-recorded it in Nashville with Dann Huff.
