For perhaps the last week for over the next three months we find this week’s SoundScan chart sitting in basically the same formation as last week, with only a few changes.  Once again, Lady Antebellum sits in the pole position with Need You Now, the same week their third single from the set, “Our Kind of Love,” makes it three singles in a row to land as chart-toppers.  Zac Brown Band releases their sophomore album next week but still find The Foundation sitting in the Top five best-selling country albums of the week on the SoundScan chart and are right ahead of Miranda Lambert’s Revolution. Little Big Town’s The Reason Why saddles up to the fourth-place as their lead single “Little White Church” remains a Top 10 hit.  Trace Adkins’ Cowboy’s Back In Town finds itself as the fifth-best seller this week.

Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift continue to duke it out on the charts with their albums as Play On continues to hold off Fearless for the sixth-best selling country album this week.  Last week’s #2 country album, Ryan Bingham’s Junky Star tumbled to seventh-place this week as the Oscar winner finds himself perplexed that his rootsy music is classified as country music (much like Canadian Johnny Reid).  Brad Paisley jumps back into the Top 10 this week with American Saturday Night and is immediately followed by Blake Shelton’s second album release of 2010, All About Tonight.  A record which has sold nearly 75,000 copies so far.

Rodney Atkins self-titled release for Cracker Barrel is essentially a re-issue of his sophomore album If You’re Goin’ Through Hell album.  The only difference between the two records is the addition of Atkins’ latest hit “Farmer’s Daughter” and a b-side from the Goin’ Through Hell sessions.  Jerrod Niemann’s Judge Jerrod & The Hung Jury is nearing the 120,000 units-scanned mark while he sets up “What Do You Want” as the album’s sophomore single behind “Lover, Lover.”  Jason Aldean’s Wide Open finds itself the 13th best-selling country album on the SoundScan chart this week and he finds himself nearing the 1.3 million sales mark as he gears-up to release My Kinda Party in a few weeks.  Lady Antebellum’s Lady Antebellum continues to find audiences (it may be due to the fact that “I Run To You” is a pop chart hit right now) while Easton Corbin rounds out this week’s Top 15 albums on the SoundScan Hot 200 Albums  chart with his self-titled debut.

Each week we rundown ‘interesting’ albums off of the charts and this week that brings us to the third major label release from Randy Rogers Band.  Perhaps their best release as major label artists, Burning The Day  has now sold nearly 40,000 records so far, not too bad for a band without any big radio hits (or awards like Ryan Bingham has).  Luke Bryan’s ‘breakthrough’ album Doin’ My Thing is next on our rundown of interesting country albums on the SoundScan Hot 200 Albums chart and is inching ever so close to Gold sales  status (it’s likely already a Gold album candidate for shipments, which labels sell to stores).  Eric Church’s Carolina is next on the rundown with nearly 270,000 copies sold.  Rodney Atkins  ‘true’ current album It’s America is next on our rundown-with a total sales mark of ‘only’ 142,188 copies sold.  Lee Brice’s debut album rounds-out our chart rundown with 2,300 more fans picking up a copy of Love Like Crazy, the title tune which has now given the singer a Billboard chart record with 56 weeks (and counting) on the singles chart.  “Beautiful Every Time” will be the next single whenever “Crazy” finishes its run on the chart.

Next week we’ll see the arrival of the new albums from Jamey Johnson, James Otto, Joey + Rory and perhaps Justin Townes Earle and America’s Got Talent winner Kevin Skinner on the album sales chart.  As always, check back here next Wednesday to see how the chart numbers played-out.
