For the last eight summers, Kenny Chesney has toured the country in arenas and stadiums with a show that can only be described as an event.  Having already announced that he wouldn’t be returning with such a tour in 2010 (outside of a few committed events), Brian Mansfield of USA Today reported today that that Chesney and Sony Music have partnered with Sony Pictures to bring Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3-D into theaters next year.  Not only will Kenny be doing something few stars are able to do, but he’ll also have the show in 3-D as well.

Each of the last eight concert seasons has put at least a million concert goers in their seats to see his extravaganzas and he and Sony are certainly hoping that history repeats itself with this theater concert experience.

The concert is one way Kenny can give something to fans next year as he takes most of the year off to get to know his family a little more; "I've been giving to one thing for so long, and that's just not OK with me anymore."

What do you think?  Will you be going to see this show when it opens in April?
