Chad Brock - Redneck In The White House

Chad Brock scored a couple of hit singles in 1998 to 2001 but quickly faded away as his song choices seemed to be devoid of anything resembling a personality while the man himself had a big, gregarious personality that is now showcased daily as a morning show co-host (formerly with Cledus T. Judd) on Tampa country station WQYK. After a brief partnership with a couple country labels, Chad’s back with a song that reeks of morning show desperation.

There’s just nothing really nice to say about “Put A Redneck In The White House” other than the musicians played on it as well as anyone could. The lyrics might make for a good album cut but does Chad seriously think he’ll get back on the radio with this? He even tries to get people to go to his website at the end of the song. Doesn’t he know that nobody will play a song with a website address in it as it is free advertising?

While the song is topical in a way, many would argue that America already has a redneck in the white house (or that the last two were rednecks). So, basically, there is nothing remotely interesting about this song. I don’t even know why I’m wasting my time to write about it, nobody cares outside of a few laughing morning zoo jocks and I guess Chad Brock.

I don't 'know it all' and I was just implying that the President may 'act' 'redneck.' If it come off as anything but, that I'm sorry. It wasn't meant to. I certainly think W. would be a great guy to hang around with.

I love the song! It says in simple terms what America is feeling. "Smart Guy" will never get that. DJ Charleston,WV

Matt,Chad.K.C.,Rick,Marvin,Doc. It is very entertaining to see people go at it over politics. Matt, you did come off a little like a know it all who holds a grudge against George Bush...I've heard the song and I thought it was funny, but it had nothing to do with Bush.

I am independent and vote for who I like, just as y'all should. I just didn't particularly like this single. I do admit to liking Chad's stuff previously, even if I said it not being of 'personality' when I KNOW he does have one. Again, I just didn't like this song.

Dearest "Smart Guy"...(as Chad said in his Blog) I've read both your and Chad's comments. I've got to say from a third party point of view, you seem a bit out of touch with common people. If this song is not going to make a difference, then why did you take the time to write about it... I am a common man that drives a truck for a living. It is funny because Chad actually came across as a common man in his blog and you came across as a know it all, George Bush hater in yours.. I think that it is great someone has us thinking about candidates because it is important...But what do I know....I'm not a "smart guy" like you... P.S. I Heard the song at least 3 or 4 times this week here in Montgomery,AL. Even called to request it once......SO I guess someone will play it.....

Chad, First of all, thanks for taking the time to comment. Next, I don't know the exact reasons why you left WB, and since that label has had issues from time to time, I can give you the benefit of doubt. As far as this song goes, no matter what your reasons for doing it were, it just seemed to 'morning zoo' to me (I used to work in radio). That's what I didn't like the most about it. Also, A redneck can go to Harvard, because we know that W. isn't the smartest tool in the shed and Rednecks can come from the northern part of the country.

Whoever wrote this little review makes me laugh and absolutely knows nothing about why I left Nashville and Warner Brothers, so If I were you friend I would keep my mouth shut until you find out the real reasons. Also at this point in my 45 yrs on this earth I can do exactly what I want and say what I want because I don't have to worry about what people like you think. My thoughts about this song was not to try to get me back on the radio, I could care less about that, it is to try to make folks think about what really is going on in this country, we let a minority of people make the rules in this country, that needs to stop. Majority needs to rule this country and make the rules. Being PC for me is over, by the way we have never had a redneck in the Whitehouse, rednecks don't go to Harvard and Yale smart guy.

I think Chad is trying to follow in the footsteps of DJ Rick Dees who got the national spotlight with "Disco Duck"... This song is about as serious as the "Willie for President" song and is to be judged accordingly but at least this song has an honest message (of sorts). I think McCain could gain a lot of support from rednecks (like myself) by adopting Buddy Jewell's "This Ain't Mexico" as his campaign theme song, unfortunately that song expresses a sentiment opposite to that held by McCain personally....

It is no secret that Chad will probably noy get elected. However it is a clear and present message to to 5% elitists that are running this country while the other people fall to to wayside. Most people are content to keep their head in the sand and go on their merry way oblivious to the running of this once great nation. I love the song and the message it brings. I will not put a muslim raised man in the white house to carry the launch codes of our nuclear warheads. Has evereyone lost their fu--ing mind? I will write in Chad Brock For President. Signed, "A common Man"
