Carolina Rain - Weight of the World

The most striking element of Carolina Rain’s upbeat, pop-country single “Weight of the World” is the vocals. Amidst an acoustic based verse and lightly distorted chorus, this song's message of helping to ease the burdens of daily life contains well-crafted and smoothly flowing harmonies throughout – especially during the chorus’ backing vocals. However, the song lacks a dramatic shift musically and ends up missing any sense of real depth. Happily singing “whoo-ooh” can be nice, but sometimes isn’t enough to hold a song together.
