Brooks & Dunn Split-Up (Sort-of)

In a move that shocked the country music industry, Brooks & Dunn today announced the end of their 20-year partnership. Brooks and Dunn are undoubtedly one of the most successful duos in country music history.  They've won a boatload of awards, sold over 30 million albums and scored a boatload of #1 hits and quite a few other hits along the way.  Rumors had been circulating the last few years that Brooks & Dunn would go on hiatus but nobody really expected this announcement.  More than likely Brooks will turn to his radio host career and perhaps write and produce for other artists while Dunn will undoubtedly continue on as a solo artist.

The following statement has just been posted to Brooks & Dunn's website (www.brooks-dunn.com)...
Message from Brooks & Dunn | 8/10/09

To Our Fans:

After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it's time call it a day. This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed .... We owe it all to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don't believe them, it's just time.

We will release our "#1s ... and then some" on September 8th and come see you all one more time in 2010, with The Last Rodeo Tour (dates to be announced).

I predict 2010 will see the first of the annual "Brooks and Dunn Farewell Concert" tours which will go on until one of them dies of old age...
