Brad Paisley - "Water"

Like George Strait before him, Brad Paisley has become consistent in delivering to radio the types of songs that both fans and radio programmers like to hear.  While he’s occasionally released songs with some strong visual lyrics and messages like “When I Get To Where I’m Going” and “Whiskey Lullaby” or last year’s “Welcome To The Future,” it is the fun playful tunes like “Me Neither,” “Celebrity,” and “Wrapped Around” and lovelorn ballads like “Then,” “Waitin’ On A Woman” and “She’s Everything” that have been his bread and butter and “Water,” the fourth single from the 2009 release American Saturday Night is a song that’s very much in the playful side of the fence.

From the opening lyrics that describe Brad’s childhood backyard inflatable pool the intentions of this single are clear: It’s meant to be enjoyed while hanging out with friends down at the lake or river or ocean.  It’s a song that anyone who loves to have a good time will relate to and that’s exactly the point of it.  It may not say anything new or interesting about the summer time but it’s not trying to.

“Water” may not be as interesting or as fun as Alan Jackson’s similar summertime hit “Chattachoochie” but it fits on a water-based iTunes playlist right next to it and that’s what will ultimately make this up-tempo, fiddle and steel guitar-laced ode to summer fun a big ole radio hit this summer.

A love all the tracks on his new album but I think "She's Her Own Woman" is by far the best track on the whole album! It probably will never be released as a single because it may not be considered country enough for country radio; which makes "Water" a more appropriate choice.

I agree this will be the biggest hit on this entire album. I hope this show brad he dosnt need to make songs that have very little apeal. I liked everything released on this album I just think some of the stuff on previous had more to offer. Like 5th gear with online letter to me ticks I'm still a guy and the rerelease of waiten on a women. In my opinion as whole this album wasn't as good this song with a few others such as then American Saturday night and I hope that's me and the pants save this album but water will undoublty be the track to remember when a greatest hits collection comes along as well as then those two will be the ones to remember in my opinion.
