For the first time in the nineteen-year history of their Radio Airplay monitoring an artist has secured nine Number One singles in a row.  Brad Paisley started his streak in 2005 with "When I Get Where I'm Going."  The latest Number one hit, "Start A Band," is a duet with fellow Country guitar slinger Keith Urban.  The single is Paisley's thirteenth number one hit overall and it is also Urban's nineth chart-topper.

The other chart-topping singles during this run of hits for Paisley are "She's Everything" and "The World" from "Time Well Wasted," "Ticks," "Online," "Letter To Me," "I'm Still A Guy," and "Waitin' On A Woman" from "5th Gear." Paisley's other four Number One Hits are "He Didn't Have To Be," "We Danced," "I'm Gonna Miss Her" and "Mud On The Tires."  With all of these big hits and seven other Top 10 hits, the time is about right for Brad to release a "Greatest Hits" collection with two to three new tracks this year.  If he does that certainly all of these #1 hits and most of those top 10 hits will be included.

Blake, I most certainly agree with you. Even Haggard wouldn't have released 9 classic songs worthy of being #1 in a row. In fact, I'd argue that #1 does NOT equal "Classic."

Kudos to Paisley, but no artist in the history of the world has released nine consecutive singles that are #1 worthy. Kenny, Brad, Sugarland, Carrie and Taylor are seemingly #1-guaranteed right now.
