You think Americans don't appreciate good Country ! You should try the UK ! We don't even have any radio stations that play more than the odd weekly one hour programme and then you have to hunt for it. In the US and Canada I have heard teenagers singing along to Country songs (Ok, probably to the latest one hit wonder from Nashville) but I bet 99.9 pc of our youth could not even name more than a couple of Country artists let alone sing along to the music. They prefer bland pop c**p with totally banal and repetative lyrics. Good stuff comes from Canada and also Austin,Texas though (and one or two Nashville acts can be pretty good too).

Now that is one nice country song! Doc Walker has that kind of 70's Poco / Pure Prairie League kinda sound going on that I really like. These guys are way too country and mellow for US AirHead Country Radio where the ADHD listeners need bombastic pounding rock drums and screaming electric guitars to get their attention. Thank goodness Canadians can still appreciate authentic, mellow folky country music and support bands that play it.
